Tips for Your Church Christmas Production
Any time is a good time to start thinking about your church Christmas production. We've got the plan and audio gear for you as you plan the biggest show of the year.
Take Care of the Logistics
- Have a list of all practices and be sure you know which is the full-dress rehearsal.
- Meet with the director to discover the production's needs. Important questions to ask include how many microphones, how many people will be performing, what type of music they will be using, and where the performance will take place.
- Make sure the director has you on the contact list so you're in the loop on important announcements.
Make Some Noise
- Choose the right church PA speakers for the event. You may need to order an extra 12" or 15" church PA speaker for your Christmas production.
- Pick up a floor monitor. Floor monitors allow your singers and band to hear themselves over the production. Keep Mary singing on key!
- While you're arranging the floor monitors and PA speakers, find places to make them unobtrusive. We're pretty sure there weren't any speakers in the manger!
Test It Out & Get Help
- Once you have your new church PA speakers, be sure you test them out in rehearsal.
- Recruit additional stage help for the production.
- Have backup in case you can't make it to the show. Train one of your new sound-tech recruits on how to set up the monitors and PA speakers so that if you are struck down with the flu, you won't have to worry.
